Romeo and Juliet
As the weather cools down, nothing can warm you up better than love. Can you imagine something more romantic than the story of Romeo and Juliet? If not, do not hesitate and take someone you love to the Meteorit theatre to see one of the most popular plays written by William Shakespeare.
Meteorit is an international theatre which offers adaptations of both classic and modern works to the audience of the 21st century. It can also be described as a meeting point of different cultures, and the theatre tries to make use of their mutual influence.
The theatre is known for producing Shakespeare’s plays for the Slovak stage. They have brought to life Midsummer Night’s Dream and Richard III, and in October they successfully premiered Romeo and Juliet, under the guidance of the director Róbert Csontos, whose name is a guarantee of an untraditional combination of classical and modern art. The traditional play of the tragic love between two young people whose deaths unite their feuding families comes redressed in modern garb, incorporating modern art forms such as street dance, hip-hop, break dance, lockin and popin.
And please hurry up because some performances are already sold out. Tickets are still available for November 25 and December 12.
