It’s the year 2012 – the end of the world is near. If you crave a different perspective than most Hollywood apocalyptic action movies offer on this topic, you are cordially invited to the screening of Melancholia in Room G 103 at the Department of British and American Studies on Wednesday, February 22, at 6 p.m.
The director Lars von Trier introduces a fictional planetary object called Melancholia that is heading for Earth on a collision course. As usual, he also got powerful performances from his all-star cast: Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Kiefer Sutherland. The movie, excellently received by critics and audiences, offers aesthetics, action, catastrophe, a little nudity, pleasure, insight and so much more.
Take a study break and enjoy a quality movie.
